Welcome Friend!
For as long as I can remember, I’ve been drawn to stories — the kind tucked inside well-loved books, old films, and even the quiet moments between everyday life. I’ve also spent most of my career in corporate America, where creativity had to wait for evenings and weekends. But during those hours, I discovered something that changed everything: dyeing yarn.
It started as curiosity — a fascination with how color could shift and flow through wool, how a few grains of dye could bloom into something entirely new. The first time I saw a skein emerge from the pot, I was hooked. What began as an experiment quickly turned into a calling.
The Curious Skein grew from that sense of wonder. The name felt right — because curiosity has always been at the heart of everything I love. Each skein I dye begins as a question: What if? What if I combine rose and lavender? What if I capture the glow of autumn leaves or the shimmer of a winter morning? What if a yarn could feel like stepping into a story?
My inspiration often comes from art, history, and the natural world — from the soft blush of a dahlia, the jewel tones of stained glass, or the vintage romance of eras gone by. I love creating colorways that carry a bit of mood and meaning — yarns that invite you to slow down, imagine, and create something that feels like your own chapter in the story.
Every skein is hand-dyed in small batches in my home studio, with attention to detail and care for the maker who’ll one day turn it into something beautiful. I want my yarns to feel approachable yet full of possibility — whether you’re knitting your first scarf or your hundredth sweater.
The Curious Skein isn’t just about color; it’s about connection — between maker and yarn, imagination and craft, curiosity and creation. My hope is that when you pick up one of my skeins, you feel that spark of inspiration too.
Welcome, friend. I’m so glad you’re here.
